About the Books
“The Hamburg Superdetectives” is self-published under the pen name Lina Storm. Production and distribution: Amazon KDP. The text and illustrations were created with the support of AI tools and selected and edited by us.
Our Donation Promise: How We Report It
25 percent of the profits from “The Hamburg Superdetectives” series go to two children’s foundations:
- 12.5 percent to Sternenbrücke, a hospice for children and young people in Hamburg
- 12.5 percent to the Barakiel-Stiftung
What Counts as Profit
The starting point is the royalties we receive from Amazon KDP for all books in the series: every book, all three reading levels, paperback and e-book. Printing costs and Amazon’s share have already been deducted from these royalties. We then deduct costs directly attributable to the series, such as ISBNs, proofreading, text and image tools, the website, newsletter, and advertising. Of the remaining profit, 25 percent goes to the two foundations, split equally.
At Least 25 Euro Cents per Book
To ensure the foundations receive support even in years with high costs, a minimum applies: we donate at least 0,25 euros for every copy sold, whether paperback or e-book, less returns. If this amount exceeds 25 percent of the profit, we donate the higher amount, again split equally between the two foundations. Kindle Unlimited loans are not copies sold, but their royalties count toward the profit.
Each year is calculated separately. A loss in one year is not offset against profits in later years.
Reporting Period and Publication
This promise has applied since the series launched in 2026. Each calculation covers a calendar year. We will publish the figures for 2026 here on this website by June 30, 2027. After that, the report for the previous year will be published by June 30 each year.
What Each Annual Report Includes
- the number of copies sold and royalties from Amazon KDP during the calendar year
- the costs deducted, broken down by type
- the profit, 25 percent of it, the minimum of 0,25 euros per copy, and the higher of the two amounts as the donation
- the amount for each foundation and the transfer date
If there is no profit in a year, we state this openly in the report. The minimum per copy still applies.
How Donations Are Made
We transfer the amounts directly to the two foundations. If the allocation or recipients change, we will announce it here in advance.

Consumer Dispute Resolution
